When you are going out on a vacation, your main concern is how safe is your home against burglars. Burglary is a very common thing today and if you are planning for a vacation you should be able to go and enjoy your holidays without the worry of your house being robbed or burgled.
The burglars when see the house empty they can easily burgle it. The one way you can avoid this is by hiring a sitter for your house who can stay at home in your absence and gives the security to the house. The sitter needs to be some person known to you is reliable and can be trusted. The sitter just need to go into the house, and keep a watch during the day, turn on the lights during the night, if any animals or pets are around to take care of them. The peace of mind which you get from this can be worth the price you pay for the sitter.
The other way to avoid the burglar enter the house will be to keep the pretense as if some one is home. To do this you can ask your neighbor to keep an eye on the house. You should give the telephone numbers to the person who is going to watch your house for emergencies.
There are gadgets which go on at a particular time like lights or radio which will give the illusion that there are people at home. The lawn grass needs to mowed before your leave as the burglar will know from the grass which is grown so big that no one is home.
The mail in the mailbox is also a giveaway about you not being at home. If you do not pick your mail daily then the burglar will know there is no one home. You will be advised to ask your neighbor to pick your mail. Of course you will ensure that the house is locked and all the jewels and the precious item is stored in a locker. Always keep a spare key with the neighbor or friends.
When the person you have hired or friend who comes in regularly should be advised to put on lights in the evening and put on the television also they should be asked to check if any things looks out of the ordinary like a window broken etc. Then he can contact the local police.
Vacations are supposed to be fun and relaxing and we should keep all the worries away by taking these small steps to prevent any untoward incident which will mar your vacation.
